'Bin Laden's bookshelf': The contents of the terrorist's personal library (National Post)

On Wednesday, the U.S. government released a trove of documents teams took from Osama bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan after he was assassinated.

The cache, dubbed “Bin Laden’s Bookshelf,” includes a series of bureaucratic documents and reports from al Qaida as well as an eclectic list of books and articles the terrorist leader had with him.

“The release, which followed a rigorous interagency review, aligns with the President’s call for increased transparency–consistent with national security prerogatives–and the 2014 Intelligence Authorization Act, which required the ODNI to conduct a review of the documents for release,” the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said in its release.

They’re reviewing “hundreds more documents in the near future” for possible release.

Here’s what they found on “Bin Laden’s Bookshelf”:

  1. Now Declassified Material (103 items)
  2. Publicly Available U.S. Government Documents (75 items)
