20 ISIS-linked militants killed in Afghanistan

At least 20 militants affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS) have been killed in an airstrike in Alingar district in Afghanistan’s eastern province of Laghman.

The Afghan army said on Saturday two key ISIS leaders, identified as Mawlavi Turab and Musa Khan, were also among those killed and that local residents did not suffer any casualties during the airstrikes.

The anti-government armed militant groups and the ISIS militants have not released any comments so far.

Laghman, which is relatively calm among Afghanistan’s provinces, has lately witnessed armed militants’ attemps to expand their insurgency activities.
