Medibio Announces ISO 13485 Certification

SYDNEY, Australia and MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Medibio Limited (MEB or the Company) (ASX:MEB) (OTCQB:MDBIF) has received a Certificate of Compliance certifying that the Company’s Quality Management System complies with the requirements of ISO 13485.  This also includes conformance with the Canadian Medical Device Conformity Assessment System (CMDCAS).

The certification was issued by DQS Med, the Notified Body appointed to assess Medibio’s submission for CE Mark. It signifies that Medibio has established a comprehensive quality system for the design and manufacturing of medical devices.  ISO 13485 is recognized internationally as a universal measure of quality and is a critical prerequisite to securing CE Mark and other regulatory certifications.

Government calls for more reform in 2018

The government has issued a resolution on a conference with localities and the monthly government meeting for December 2017, highlighting the theme of 2018 Discipline, integrity, innovativeness, and effectiveness.

The government has asked ministries, agencies, and localities to continue innovating, being dynamic, developing a transparent, efficient, and incorruptible administrative system, and to comprehensively implement the resolutions of the Party, National Assembly, and Government to fulfill socio-economic targets and state budget estimates for 2018 to 2020.

The government called for effort to improve business environment index and increase the labor productivity and competitiveness of each sector and locality.

Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students marked nationwide

Activities were held across Vietnam to mark the 68th Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students.

On Tuesday, Ho Chi Minh City’s Youth Union organised a ceremony to celebrate the day and to honor outstanding students and pupils.

113 pupils who won prizes at national and local contests and innovation competitions were awarded the title Pupils with Three Constructive Performances.

102 students and 2 organizations were awarded the title Students with Five Good Performances.

Tran Thi Dieu Hanh, a student at Ho Chi Minh City’s Technology University, was one of the honorees.

She said: This is a precious title for a student, encouraging me to do my best to achieve future goals. I’m very moved.

The same day, Quang Nam held a Quang Nam students’ festival for innovative startups, where a club for innovative entrepreneurs at Quang Nam College of Economics and Technology made its debut. The club will support startups and connect student startup ideas with the business community.

A similar meeting was held by the Vietnam Students’ Association of Vinh Long province where the Students with Five Good Performances title and the January Star Awards 2017 were presented.

Ho Chi Minh city Book Street draws 2.5 million visitors

Ho Chi Minh city’s Book Street has attracted 2.5 million visitors since its opening in early 2016, according to the municipal Department of Information and Communications.

The Department said that over the past 2 years, nearly 800,000 books were sold in the area, earning nearly 3 million USD. Last year, the Book Street hosted 28 activities to mark major celebrations, 31 exhibitions, and 260 book release events.

PM arrives in Cambodia for Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Summit

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Wednesday arrived in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to attend the second Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Summit.

He was welcomed at the Pochentong airport by Cambodian Minister of Tourism Thong Khong, Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam Prak Nguon Hong and Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh. The countries along the Mekong River – Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam � take turns organizing the biennial event. This year’s summit was co-organised by Cambodia and China.

The overall goal of the summit is to improve connections to build a responsible community and promote shared benefits in the Mekong sub-region.

Vietnam, Cuba strengthen bilateral cooperation

Vietnam and Cuba need to continue their bilateral cooperation, pushing to put their economic and trade ties on a par with political relations.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh made the statement at a reception in Hanoi on Tuesday for new Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Lianys Torres Rivera.

Ambassador Rivera underscored her commitment to deepening the bilateral relationship.
