West Corporation Introduces Media Snippets, Interactive Multimedia Modules for Content Publishing

Companies can now embed a carousel of images, audio, video and live streaming into their press releases and web pages to tell a more complete brand story and increase engagement with media, investors and customers

OMAHA, Neb., June 08, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — West Corporation (“West”), a global leader in technology-enabled services, introduces Media Snippets, customizable content modules that can be seamlessly embedded into press releases, blogs and web pages to help companies provide an immersive and information-rich experience for their key stakeholders. Media Snippets also provides insight into social sharing behavior, image downloads and video views so brands can analyze their results, see what content resonates, and understand how their audiences interact with their content.

“Our goal is to continually innovate and enhance our technology to provide clients with tools that allow them to most effectively communicate with their audiences,” said John Shlonsky, CEO of West Corporation. “With Media Snippets we enable compelling content in a feature rich press release published on GlobeNewswire.com, as well as websites managed through West’s webhosting services, including IR websites, newsrooms and corporate websites. Media Snippets is a leap forward in our ever expanding suite of communication products and services.”

Debuting at the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) Annual Conference in Las Vegas, June 10-13, 2018, Media Snippets allows companies to go beyond text-only press releases and web pages by enabling images, infographics, on-demand video, audio and webcasts―even streaming video of live events.

Communications professionals can now leverage their branded content and media assets to create enhanced press releases that promote interest and engagement, make an emotional connection with audiences and facilitate social sharing.

“The average consumer spends less than a minute reading a press release, so it’s more important than ever to provide content that’s immediately engaging,” said Ben Chodor, president, West Digital Communications. “Research shows that content with compelling images garners 94 percent more views than content without1, and 81 percent of people have been convinced to buy a product or service by watching a brand’s video2. Using an unbranded, ad-free HTML5 player, companies can easily integrate their own video, video from any third-party platform, or embed entire live streams and webcasts.”

To see a live demonstration of Media Snippets, visit West Digital Communications at Booth #517 during NIRI.

Celixir announces US FDA approval of the IND application for cell therapy HeartcelTM

  • FDA IND and UK MHRA CTA approval both achieved in H1 2018
  • Potentially pivotal heart failure trial of up to 250 patients in the UK and US

Stratford-upon-Avon, UK, 08 June 2018 – Celixir, a privately owned company discovering and developing life-saving advanced therapies, announces that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved its Investigational New Drug application (IND) for HeartcelTM, its immuno-modulatory progenitor (iMP) cell therapy for the treatment of adult heart failure.

Celixir announced in January the approval of a clinical trial application (CTA) from the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency to initiate a potentially pivotal Phase IIb human clinical trial with HeartcelTM. The international trial will recruit up to 250 patients and the IND approval allows expansion to US clinical trial sites.

Ajan Reginald, Chief Executive Officer of Celixir, commented: “The FDA approval of our IND is a significant regulatory milestone, which follows UK clinical trial approval in January. Celixir is now well positioned to conduct potentially pivotal trials with Heartcel™ in Europe and the US.

About Celixir
Celixir is a privately owned UK biotechnology company that discovers and develops life-saving and life-altering advanced therapies for patients with the greatest medical need. Celixir, founded in 2009, is made up of a world class team of scientists and biopharmaceutical executives, led by Nobel Laureate Professor Sir Martin Evans and former Roche Global Head of Emerging Technologies, Ajan Reginald. Celixir’s unique platform technology allows it to adopt an ‘off-the-shelf’ approach to deliver cell therapies to patients.

About HeartcelTM
Heartcel is an allogeneic cell therapy containing off-the-shelf immunomodulatory progenitor (iMP) cells engineered to regenerate the heart. iMPs are administered during coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery by direct injection around the cardiac scar that is to be regenerated. iMP cells have been designated an Advanced Therapeutic Medicinal Product (ATMP) by the European Medicines Agency.

EU Phase II trials were successfully completed with results presented in 2016 at the congresses of the European Society of Cardiovascular and Endovascular Surgery and the European Society of Gene and Cell Therapy. All primary and secondary endpoints were met: 100% major adverse cardiac event (MACE) free survival; 30% improvement in heart function; 40% reduction in scar size; and 50% improvements in quality of life. In 2017, four-year follow-up analyses found the MACE-free survival rate remains at 100%. Potentially pivotal trials are approved to begin following US IND and UK CTA approvals.

Arbitrade Ltd. To Establish its World Headquarters in Bermuda

NEW YORK, June 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Mr. Leonard Schutzman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Arbitrade, a leading coin and cryptocurrency exchange, said today that its home domicile will be Bermuda. In making the announcement, Chairman Schutzman said the process to winning incorporation started late last year when company representatives first met with Premier David Burt, Minister Wayne Caines, the Minister of National Security who is spearheading the introduction of crypto and digital asset legislation in Bermuda, Minister Wayne Furbert, The Junior Finance Minister, Stephen P. Gift from the Ministry of Finance, representatives from the Bermuda Monetary Authority and Bermuda Business Development Agency. “The company made numerous visits over several months and a considerable amount of work was done to securing our incorporation. Bermuda is justly regarded as the gold standard in the Fintech and Reinsurance industries globally and Arbitrade’s goal was always to domicile its head office in this exacting jurisdiction before registering subsidiaries in other countries around the world,” Mr. Schutzman said.

He noted Bermuda was one of the very few jurisdictions leading the way with full legislation affecting ICO’s and cryptocurrency laws and Arbitrade welcomed cryptocurrency legislation and associated regulations that form a strong foundation in developing the best strategies to advance its business model into other countries. Arbitrade welcomed the stringent Know Your Client (KYC)/Anti Money Laundering (AML) process with which companies will have to comply before they are able to be licensed to operate as a merchant exchange business.  “It seemed to us the only way our industry will receive global acceptance. With this thoughtful and timely structure of Bermuda’s laws to guide and support us, Arbitrade can now move forward into over 12 additional countries quickly and then continue to introduce our platforms to more jurisdictions,” he said.

Bermuda expects its ICO legislation to be passed within the next three weeks and Arbitrade intends to hold the very first, fully legal, ICO in Bermuda when this happens. Information about the legislation is available on the Government of Bermuda’s website.

Once Arbitrade has its licenses in hand, the company will proceed first with its eight-week legally approved ICO, followed by the launch of the Arbitrade platform in late August/early September.

Bermuda is a well-regulated Country Led by the Bermuda Monetary Authority. All new companies are scrutinized to ensure that the jurisdiction is protected and know its customer, hence a sometimes lengthy period of due diligence.

While many countries still wrestle with ways to regulate digital assets businesses, the Bermuda government has passed the Digital Assets Business Act. “This thoughtful and timely action demonstrates, once again, why Bermuda is a world leader in regulating financially related services. The progressive legislation sets the highest standards for those companies who have chosen to establish Digital Assets businesses on the island and validates the company’s decision to incorporate and domicile our global headquarters in Bermuda.”

Mr. Schutzman said, Arbitrade’s management would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while it worked to achieve this incredible accomplishment. “This is only the beginning, and the road ahead is going to be extremely busy as management sets up the operating infrastructure of the company, with our head office in Bermuda.”

Arbitrade has been locking down all deals regarding our bullion purchases as we move forward with this news. We needed two things to be able to close the bullion negotiations:

1. Be a registered company in Bermuda, and

2. Be a legally licensed and insured company in Bermuda.

“We have already accomplished the first requirement and, we have been advised, the second requirement will happen later this month,” Mr. Schutzman said, noting that the company seeks to finish all agreements and deals with all partnering companies before the end of the month. Once this is achieved, it will announce the official ICO dates, the bullion related news, partners information, and the official launch date of Arbitrade. Arbitrade’s management and consultants were hoping for earlier dates to receive approvals however this is a long process that has to pass through many channels of Government. We have made it through the most difficult part of the process.”

ARBITRADE, through its proprietary software and strategic partnerships, plans to be in all segments of the cryptocurrency business, including currency mining, trading (The ARBITRADE Exchange) gift cards, debit cards, money transfer and Point of Sale processing.

Legislators adopt revised National Defence Law

With 88.3% of votes in favor, lawmakers passed the revised Law on National Defence and discussed the draft Law on Vietnam’s Coast Guard at the ongoing National Assembly session in Hanoi on Friday.

Deputies agreed on the need to promulgate a law on Vietnam’s Coast Guard to enhance defence and security and create a legal foundation for the operation of the Vietnamese coast guard force.

Lawmakers said the wording of the law should fully institutionalize the Party’s policies, guidelines, and regulations on the national maritime strategy by 2020, the strategy for national protection and defense in the new context, especially the strategy on national defense, security, and external relations on the sea. It should also be compatible with international law.

Deputy Pham Dinh Cuc representing Ba Ria-Vung Tau said: The promulgation of the law is very important because Vietnam accounts for nearly one third of the East Sea. The current situation on the East Sea remains complicated and the law will provide a favorable legal foundation for the Vietnamese coast guard force to operate in line with international law and Vietnam’s Constitution 2013.

Legislators also approved a resolution on law and ordinance building for 2019 and debated the draft Law on Cultivation.
