Jumio Records Best Sales Quarter in Company History, Fueled by Q2 Growth in Asia Pacific

Jumio’s sales grew by more than 200 percent year over year for three of our last four quarters; the company has recorded quarter over quarter sales growth nine of the last ten quarters

PALO ALTO, Calif., July 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Jumio, the leading AI-powered trusted identity as a service provider, today announced its best sales quarter in company history, ending June 30, 2018, representing a 269 percent increase in sales over the same quarter last year. The results were fueled by record sales growth in the Asia Pacific region, which grew 531 percent over the previous quarter.

“We’re thrilled that within three months of opening our Singapore office, Asia Pacific has already generated so much in sales and has seen such wide adoption,” said Steve Stuut, CEO of Jumio. “This type of immediate market traction speaks to the opportunity this region represents and the untapped potential, especially within financial services, enterprise and e-commerce markets.”

The emerging need for reliable digital identity verification, coupled with increasingly stringent data protection and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR and California Consumer Privacy Act) and the growing realization that traditional authentication methodologies are no longer effective or secure, has caused companies to explore the identity-verification-as-a-service market.

According to a market study by McKinsey, the emerging identity-verification-as-a-service market is close to $10 billion and predicts it will grow to a $16-20 billion market by 2022. McKinsey reports, “Identity verification-as-a-service offers a way for e-commerce providers to outsource the verification function to providers with the necessary scale and security to accomplish sensitive transactions quickly, safely, and efficiently.” In fact, the Asia Pacific market is growing almost 50 percent faster than the North America and Western European markets because of the higher volume of digital transactions that require online identity verification.

Increased awareness and familiarity with identity verification has helped fuel Jumio’s continued momentum as the company reports its strongest quarter in company history, including these notable milestones:

  • Six Straight Quarters of Sales Growth: Jumio grew sales nine of the past ten quarters, demonstrating growing traction for its online ID and identity verification solutions. Its focus on compliant machine learning, leading-edge identity proofing technologies, and a customer-centric mentality have helped Jumio set the bar for online identity verification accuracy and gain significant market share.
  • AsiaPac Expansion: In Q2, Jumio saw its Asia Pacific sales grow significantly and signed two of the largest deals in the company’s history as a result of having a dedicated regional focus, which includes a new Singapore office and expanded sales presence to support the region’s growing demand for online digital identity verification and Know Your Customer (KYC) services.
  • Liveness Detection for Web: Jumio launched Liveness Detection for Web to ensure that the online user is physically present during the identity verification process when using their computer’s webcam. This new functionality requires the user to take a picture of themself holding a handwritten note with a custom phrase (e.g. company name) and the current date, to ensure a real person is performing the transaction.
  • Executive Hires: In Q2, Jumio hired several new executives to further strengthen its leadership team and support its aggressive growth objectives, including: Miles Hutchinson, Chief Information Security Officer; Mike O’Callaghan,Vice President Global Operations; and Amy Treadwell, Global Vice President of People and Culture. Together, the three new hires bring decades of leadership experience in high-growth SaaS and technology organizations.
  • Industry Recognition: Jumio continues to be recognized for its product innovation, including being awarded the Gold winner in Information Security and Risk Management (and Bronze winner for Security Software) in the 13th Annual 2018 IT World Awards®, named Best Product in Biometrics and Hot Company in Fraud Prevention by the 2018 InfoSec Awards, and named the winner in the Best Authentication Technology category by the 2018 SC Awards. Jumio was also included as a Representative Vendor in the “Market Guide for Identity Proofing and Corroboration,” published by Gartner, a leading information technology research and advisory company.

SolarWinds Acquires Trusted Metrics, Adding Threat Monitoring and Management to Its IT Management Portfolio

New SolarWinds Threat Monitor Solution Designed for Technology Professionals across the IT Spectrum,
Including IT Operations, DevOps Engineers, and IT Service Providers

AUSTIN, Texas, July 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — SolarWinds, a leading provider of powerful and affordable IT management software, today announced that it has acquired Trusted Metrics, a provider of real-time threat monitoring and management software. The acquisition extends SolarWinds’ IT management portfolio to include security monitoring and is an important advance in SolarWinds’ mission to provide products that are purposefully designed to make the jobs of technology professionals easier.

“For nearly 20 years, SolarWinds has focused on helping to address our customers’ everyday IT management challenges—working to make sure that our products are designed to be powerful, yet easy to use, and work the way that technology professionals need them to work. And because we serve such a wide range of technology professionals, we understand the unique challenge that security presents—whether an organization is managing its IT infrastructure directly or working with a managed service provider (MSP),” stated Kevin Thompson, CEO, SolarWinds. “When we look at the rapidly changing IT security landscape, the proliferation of mass-marketed malware and the non-discriminatory approach of cybercriminals, we believe that real-time threat monitoring and management shouldn’t be a luxury, but an affordable option for everyone. The acquisition of Trusted Metrics will allow us to offer a new product in the SolarWinds mold—powerful, easy to use, scalable—that is designed to give businesses the ability to more easily protect IT environments and business operations.”

The new security software product, SolarWinds Threat Monitor, is an automated tool that is designed to reduce the complexity of threat detection for IT operations teams as well as for MSPs and MSSPs (managed security service providers). Threat Monitor can detect suspicious activity and malware by aggregating asset data, security events, host intrusion detection, network intrusion detection, and correlating that data with continuously updated threat intelligence, identifying the danger signals amidst all the innocent noise of a normal network. SolarWinds believes that this will ultimately help customers respond quickly and make faster, better decisions while using fewer resources. The unified platform—which includes automated threat hunting, active response to security incidents, and audit-ready reports—is designed to be an easy-to-use first step in helping organizations improve their security posture more easily and affordably. Unlike costly and complex solutions offered by enterprise-focused security software vendors, which require multiple, disconnected products staffed by multiple highly specialized people in a security operations center, Threat Monitor is tightly integrated, automated and priced to be within reach for most companies and service providers.

“Trusted Metrics is pleased to join the SolarWinds family, a move that is in line with what we hoped to accomplish as a security innovator,” stated Michael Menefee, CEO, Trusted Metrics. “We built a solution that’s designed to help companies of all sizes to improve their ability to uncover incoming attacks and quickly detect breaches by correlating customers’ network data with continuously refreshed threat intelligence—helping them make better and faster incident-response decisions. SolarWinds’ reach and tech industry know-how make them a perfect fit for getting this solution into the hands of more and more technology professionals.”

ESDS Selects Juniper Networks to Power Future-Ready Cloud in India

ESDS deploys Juniper’s high-performing automated networking solutions to optimize cloud application delivery for maximum speed and scalability

BANGALORE, India, July 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Juniper Networks (NYSE:JNPR), an industry leader in automated, scalable and secure networks, today announced that ESDS, a managed data center service and auto-scalable cloud solution provider, has successfully implemented Juniper’s high-performing networking solutions, including the QFX 5100, EX 4550 and MX 104, which have  enabled rapid and secure cloud application delivery to their customers.

With ESDS experiencing an increase in workloads due to a fast growing customer base, the organization required a high-performance, low latency network that could help them securely deliver cloud applications without risk of delay or disruption. Having a reliable network is especially essential given that a majority of ESDS’s customers are from critical sectors, such as government and financial services industries, which demand consistent high-performance and uninterrupted access to their applications.

To address this, ESDS selected Juniper Networks to help optimize, automate and secure its cloud application delivery infrastructure. Through the deployment of Juniper’s carrier grade operating system, Junos OS, ESDS has also streamlined their operations and improved network management while reducing their total cost of ownership (TCO) by 20 percent, even while experiencing traffic growth of over 50 percent year-on-year.

Today, Juniper powers more than 90 percent of the organization’s network infrastructure, helping ESDS drive greater digitization of data storage and processing capabilities across all its markets, particularly within infrastructure development and nation building. In fact, ESDS’s accomplishments have included significant contributions to the Indian government’s efforts in bringing the Pune Smart City vision to life, all while providing greater flexibility and superior up-time for citizen-centric online services.

With ESDS planning major expansions to Bangalore and other key cities in the near future, ESDS has selected Juniper as their networking partner to power their cloud transformation as they create a secure, scalable and automated multicloud environment for their customers.

News Highlights

  • Optimizing network scalability: The high-performance QFX5100 was deployed at the core by ESDS for their Mumbai and Nashik data centers, allowing for optimized application delivery, alongside the strong scalability required as part of their business operations.
  • Ease of network management: Leveraging the advanced capabilities of the compact, high-density EX4550 as the top-of-rack switch and the powerful MX104 Universal Routing Platform at their data-center edge, the deployment has improved network management by providing highly granular telemetry data, which aids in network monitoring, troubleshooting and planning activities. Additionally, Juniper’s Virtual Chassis feature allows ESDS to manage multiple elements as a single device.
  • Increased operational efficiencies: Junos OS as a common operating platform powering ESDS’s entire Juniper deployment has greatly simplified, streamlined and automated network management. With Junos OS supported on the QFX, EX and MX platforms, ESDS can schedule software upgrades and configuration checks all on one interface, which frees up valuable time and resources, resulting in significant operational efficiencies and savings.

Piyush Somani, Managing Director, ESDS Software

“ESDS is a strong player with a proven track record in the cloud and automation space, and we are proud to have been selected to power their network. Their impressive pace of growth in the past few years is a reflection of the immense potential and success for cloud-based solutions in India. Coupled with our commitment to simplifying the journey for customers toward a secure and automated multicloud, we are eager to continue our partnership with ESDS to support their expansion in building a progressive and future-ready cloud for India.”

TRIO Awarded NATALEE Study, Largest Single Phase III Breast Cancer Clinical Trial in its History

Ribociclib Combination Therapy in Adjuvant Setting Represents A Promising Therapy Against Breast Cancer

EDMONTON, Alberta, July 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Translational Research In Oncology (TRIO) today announced a collaboration with Novartis on its upcoming phase III clinical trial of ribociclib with endocrine therapy in the adjuvant treatment of HR-positive, HER2-negative early breast cancer (EBC). The trial will be called NATALEE (New Adjuvant TriAl with LEE).

“Ribociclib in combination with hormonal therapy has been demonstrated to be an effective treatment for advanced breast cancer in three large, Phase III clinical trials as well as in clinical practice around the world,” says Samit Hirawat, MD, Executive Vice President, Head of Novartis Oncology Global Drug Development. “We are pleased to collaborate with TRIO, its study investigators and patients to advance ribociclib in combination with endocrine therapy as a potential new treatment option for patients with early-stage breast cancer.”

This randomized, phase III study will include more than 4,000 patients from around the world. By mobilizing the strength of TRIO’s investigator sites within its global network, including TRIO-US and its regional partners, TRIO aims to complete enrolment rapidly. The primary endpoint of the study is invasive disease-free survival (iDFS).

Ribociclib belongs to a class of therapies called CDK4/6 inhibitors. Cyclin-dependent kinases 4 and 6 are proteins that help regulate cell replication and proper cell cycle function. Overexpression of CDK4/6 has been observed in certain cancers, and this leads to uncontrolled cell growth contributing to tumour formation. CDK4/6 inhibitors prevent CDKs from triggering cell growth and division, leading to the death of the cell.

“This collaboration represents the largest single trial awarded to TRIO and speaks to the confidence Novartis has in our capabilities and our global clinical trial network,” says Dennis J. Slamon, MD, PhD, TRIO Chairman/Executive Director and Director of Clinical Translational Research at the University of California, Los Angeles Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. “Ribociclib with endocrine therapy is an exciting addition to the world of cancer therapies. Maintaining disease-free survival and quality of life in breast cancer patients guides all of our research.”

TRIO’s experience with breast cancer clinical trials is well-established, having been involved in the development of trastuzumab for HER2-positive breast cancer, docetaxel for early-stage breast cancer, and other CDK4/6 inhibitors. TRIO’s commitment to breast cancer positions them as leaders in the field, with a long-standing desire to improve the lives of people with breast cancer.

This clinical trial will provide insight into the role of ribociclib in EBC. The efficacy, safety, and validity of ribociclib in the treatment of present and future EBC patients is the ultimate goal of TRIO and Novartis.

Ribociclib was developed by the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) under a research collaboration with Astex Pharmaceuticals.

About TRIO:

TRIO advances translational cancer research by introducing innovative and novel targeted therapeutic concepts into the clinical trial setting. With international offices in Edmonton (Canada), Paris (France), Montevideo (Uruguay), TRIO’s global reach is expansive. Linking Moscow to new poisoning in UK is absurd, Russia says

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Monday said Russia was sorry to hear that a British woman had died after being poisoned by a nerve agent, but said any suggestion that Russia was involved is absurd.

Peskov said Russia is deeply worried by the continuing presence of these poisonous substances on British territory and that he considers it a danger not only for the UK but for other Europeans.

Peskov said the investigation and what is happening in the Salisbury area is a British issue which has nothing to do with the upcoming summit between President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.
