WillScot Corporation Announces Exercise and Closing of Underwriters’ Option to Purchase Additional Shares

BALTIMORE, Aug. 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — WillScot Corporation (Nasdaq: WSC) (“WillScot”), a specialty rental services market leader providing innovative modular space and portable storage solutions across North America, today announced that the underwriters of its recent offering of 8,000,000 shares of its Class A common stock, par value $0.0001 per share (“Common Stock”), have exercised their option to purchase an additional 1,200,000 shares of Common Stock on the same terms as the initial offering.

WillScot received approximately $19.2 million of gross proceeds from the underwriter’s exercise of their option to purchase additional shares. WillScot expects to use the net offering proceeds to fund, in part, the purchase price of its pending acquisition of Modular Space Corporation (d/b/a “ModSpace”).  If the ModSpace acquisition does not close, WillScot intends to use the net proceeds for general corporate purposes.

Barclays, Deutsche Bank Securities, Morgan Stanley, BofA Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse and ING were the joint book-running managers for the offering. 30th Diplomatic Conference to promote Vietnam’s profile worldwide

The 30th Diplomatic Conference will be held from August 12-17 in Hanoi with the theme: “Vietnam’s diplomatic work: Proactiveness, Innovation, Effectiveness towards successfully implementing Resolutions of the 12th National Party Congress”.

Russia criticizes US, UK for putting pressure on former spy investigation

The UK’s unreasonable allegations and the US new sanctions against Russia regarding the poisoning of former spy Sergei Skripal aim to put pressure on the investigation, Russian Embassy in the UK said on Friday.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said President Vladimir Putin discussed possible new US sanctions against Russia with his Security Council on Friday, saying the latest round of sanctions was absolutely illegal under international law.

The same day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo talked by telephone to discuss Washington’s new sanctions against Moscow amid escalating tension of relations. Lavrov said Moscow completely rejects the sanctions.

Vietnam prepares for manufacture’s new era

Capgemini’s Digital Transformation Institute estimates that in the next five years, smart factories may contribute as much as 500 billion USD in added value to the global economy.

Suttisak Wilanan, Deputy Managing Director of Reed Tradex company, said smart factories are a huge change for a developing country like Vietnam. He said he believes that Vietnamese businesses will successfully join the global network of localization to meet international consumers’ demands. Mr. Wilanan suggested Vietnamese businesses strongly invest in manufacturing technology so as not to miss opportunities following the trend of mass and chain production.

NA Standing Committee debates bill on architecture

The National Assembly Standing Committee discussed the bill on architecture for the first time on Saturday as part of its 26th session.

The majority of deputies agreed on need to promulgate the law on architecture as proposed by the government and verified by the Assembly’s Committee for Science, Technology, and Environment. They said the law issuance aims to meet the rising demands of management and development of the modern and traditional architecture with a contingent of talented architects to contribute to national socio-economic development, security, and international integration.

UN General Assembly appoints former Chilean President as rights chief

The UN General Assembly approved on Friday the appointment of former Chilean President Michelle Bachelet as the world body’s new human rights chief.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres announced the appointment of Bachelet on Wednesday. She will replace Jordan’s Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein, who is stepping down at the end of the month after a four-year term in the Geneva-based job.

Bachelet is the first female leader in Chile. She served as Chilean president from 2006 to 2010 and from 2014 to March this year. She led UN Women, which supports gender equality and the empowerment of women, between 2010 and 2013.

PM approves strategy for Vietnam’s banking sector development by 2025

The Prime Minister has approved a strategy for Vietnam’s banking sector by 2025 and vision towards 2030.

The strategy aims to promote independence, self-reliance, and accountability of the State Bank for monetary policy, inflation control at a level appropriate to socio-economic orientations in various development periods, support for macro-economy stability, and boost sustainable growth. From 2021 to 2025, efforts will be made to enhance competitiveness, transparency, and compliance with international standards in the management and operation of credit organizations. By 2025, at least 2 or 3 commercial banks should be included in the top 100 biggest banks in Asia in terms of total asset and from 3 to 5 banks should have their shares listed in foreign securities markets.
