Vietnamese runner Nguyen Thi Oanh has named herself as one of the stars of SEA Games 31 by making a gold hat-trick after two days of competition.

Oanh triumphed in the women’s 1,500m and 5,000m on May 14. She is also the winner of the women’s 3,000m hurdles the following day, clocking 9 min 46 sec to break her own record of 10 min and 0.02 sec set at SEA Games 30 in the Philippines.

She was awarded the gold medals by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

The 27-year-old athlete, who was diagnosed with glomerulonephritis, has dominated the women’s 1,500m, 5,000m and 3,000m hurdles at the region’s biggest sports event since 2017./.

PM attends opening ceremony of FPT Software’s second office in New York

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the opening ceremony of an office of FPT Software, a subsidiary of the FPT Group, in New York city on May 15, as part of his working visit to the US and the UN.

This is FPT Software’s second office in New York, 10th in the US, and 58th in world. The company is providing technological and digital transformation services for tens of businesses in the Fortune 500 list in the North American country.

After 14 years of operating in the US, FPT Software now has 450 employees and its clients are from 30 states across this country. The US is currently one of the two largest markets of the company, whose revenue here rose 52 percent year-on-year in 2021 and 60 percent in the first quarter of 2022.

There has also been talk of a Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan (TAT) railway that would link west to Iran and the International North-South Transportation Corridor. Tajikistan, with its population of 9.5 million, has been enjoying strong economic growth for nearly 30 years since its independence in 1991, mainly based on the export of aluminium and a significant cotton industry. But sustaining growth in the future will need substantially higher growth in private investment and export diversification.

SINGAPORE, May 20, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Battery development and production are critical for Europe in the context of clean energy and automotive transition. There is a huge rise in the global demand for lithium-ion batteries and a report from the European Commission found that the EU could account for 17% of this global demand by 2030, the second-highest share worldwide.

To tackle this challenge, the EU has published a proposal for a new Sustainable Batteries Regulation, as part of its wider strategy for a climate-neutral, resource-efficient EU economy.

As the executive vice president for the Green Deal; Frans Timmermans is responsible for a comprehensive set of policy initiatives, designed to allow the European Union to become the first carbon-neutral continent on the planet by 2050.

TES is committed to improving the collection and recycling of portable and industrial batteries in Europe, and the new Port of Rotterdam facility helps support the European Union’s goals laid out in the European Green Deal. To extend on existing facilities in Grenoble (France) and Singapore, TES plans to have its site operational on the strategically located Port of Rotterdam, by the end of 2022.

The existing 10,000 square metre (approx. 110,000 sq. feet) facility, has the option to extend to over 40,000 square metres (approx. 430,000 sq. ft). The facility will be the first lithium battery recycling plant in the Netherlands and will have 10,000 tonnes of shredding capacity each year, using the award-winning hydrometallurgical process that focuses on the recovery of nickel, cobalt, and lithium as a precursor feedstock for the battery industry.
