Chiang Rai Airport is flooded, urgently transporting stranded passengers

Mae Fah Luang Airport Director reveals that Chiang Rai Airport is flooded, not recommended for travel to the airport, various airlines are rushing to transport stranded passengers. At 10:00 a.m., Flight Lieutenant Somchanok Thiamtiaprath, Director of Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai Airport, posted on Facebook about the flooding situation at Chiang Rai Airport, stating that the water level had risen and surrounded the airport. On the south side, the Kok River flooded all employee housing. On the east side, it was ready to cross the bike lane. On the west side, the water was coming from the Chiang Rai Club onto the road into the airport area. Passenger travel was difficult and very unsafe. 'If coming from Bangkok, it is not recommended at this time. It is a disaster area and you cannot leave the airport. If coming from Chiang Rai to Bangkok, please contact the airline closely. Most flights are reduced. Airlines coming to Chiang Rai at this time will come to transport stranded passengers back to Bangkok.'
