Chinese association vows to nurture relations with Vietnam

Party General Secretary Nguyen PhuTrong attended a ceremony in Beijing Friday to confer the Friendship Order on Li Xiaolin, President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, in recognition of her contributions to enhancing the Vietnam-China friendship.

The order, the highest award of the Vietnamese Party and State, was presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.

Party leader Nguyen PhuTrong said he hopes Chinese associations will continue coordinating with Vietnam to increase friendly exchanges between the two peoples, especially the younger generations.

Mr. Trong said the two sides have agreed to elevate their relationship to a new height via various cooperation mechanisms and dialogue channels in which the role of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries is crucial.

Li Xiaolin said it was an honour to receive the Friendship Order and pledged that her association will continue to do all it can to nurture the Vietnam-China friendship.
