Erdogan: Turkey will not join EU at all costs

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that Turkey will not beg for EU membership.

During a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, Erdogan said Turkey has been waiting for 54 years and will take a final decision.

Macron said France and Turkey need to cooperate in establishing peace and stability in Syria after IS was defeated. He called for a change in the form of cooperation and dialogue on Turkey’s joining the bloc.
