Iran to enrich uranium if nuclear deal fails

Iran is ready to boost its uranium enrichment to higher levels if talks with Europe on salvaging the nuclear deal fail, according to Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman and vice-president of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization.

Addressing a news conference in Tehran, Kamalvandi said Iran has adopted several measures to prepare the ground for eventually increasing the level of enrichment if necessary and if negotiations with the Europeans fail. Iran is continuing to honor its obligations under agreement signed in 2015 with the P5+1 group, said Kamalvandi.
