OR moves forward with SAF, starting sales in the first quarter of 2025

Bangkok, Oct 8 - PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR) is moving forward with SAF, accelerating the request for standard certification, confident that SAF sales will begin in the first quarter of 2025. Mr. Songpol Thepnamsommanas, Executive Vice President of Energy Solution Business, PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR), revealed at the 'Thai Aviation Sustainability Day' event yesterday (October 7) that OR, as a pioneer in the development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in Thailand, is still preparing to apply for the Sustainability Certification standard from ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) within the fourth quarter of 2024, which will allow the start of sales of SAF in the first quarter of 2025. 'OR is confident in its ability to provide aviation fuel distribution, delivery, and technology support services. OR and PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC) have jointly developed sustainable product innovations and technologies for SAF blending, using GC's Co-Processing process for the aviation industry for the first time to support Thailand's SAF enforcement policy, which will increase demand. With OR's strong logistics system covering aviation fuel distribution nationwide, OR is confident in delivering SAF to every region of Thailand,' said Mr. Songpol. OR currently has a market share in the Thai aviation fuel business with a market share of 54%, ready to move forward to become a SAF leader with over 49 years of experience in the aviation industry in Thailand. OR has developed a strong infrastructure consisting of 7 aviation fuel depots and over 12 aviation fuel stations nationwide, all of which operate under the internationally accepted JIG Standard (Joint Inspection Group Standard). The use of SAF is another way that will help airlines achieve their targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in international aviation in accordance with ICAO regulations in the future, and is in line with OR's policy of becoming an Energy Solution P rovider, as well as the OR SDG approach in the "G" or "GREEN" area, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions covering the entire business operation and increase the proportion of clean energy usage, creating a healthy environment to support the goal of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065, as well as creating energy sustainability and promoting a good image of Thailand. -511- Thai News Agency Source: Thai News Agency
