Palestinians clash with Israeli army in Jerusalem

17 people were wounded in clashes with Israeli soldiers on Thursday in Jerusalem and the West Bank as Palestinians protested against the US’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Thousands of protestors in Hebron and Al-Bireh city, the West Bank, threw rocks and bottles at Israeli soldiers. The Israeli army’s spokesperson said its soldiers used anti-violence tools to disperse the crowd. One injured protester in Gaza is in critical condition.

The Hamas Islamic Movement has launched a people’s rebellion following the US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said Washington has picked no side in the Israel-Palestine conflict.
