The local authorities reported that the province would focus on three areas of agriculture and high-tech forestry, processing industry, and tourism. They took the occasion to seek the Government’s support for transport projects, especially Tuyen Quang roads to Noi Bai-Lao Cai highway.

However, economic scale remained small and forest potential has yet to be fully tapped.

PM Phuc agreed with the local development orientations on agriculture, high-tech forestry especially medicines; the processing industry (especially beverage); and tourism.

To fulfil the aforesaid goals, the province was urged to perfect the infrastructure especially transport system; compose residential restructuring project in favour of lower medical costs, education fees, water and electricity expenditure.

The PM stressed the necessity to improve intellectual standards for local residents especially ethnic minority groups; vocational training; develop market mechanism; eliminate small production; improve investment environment and competition; and protect the environment.

On this occasion, PM Phuc came to visit Tuyen Quang Garment Factory at Phuc Ung commune, Son Dong district./.
