Program to help ethnic minorities develop their economy

On Tuesday, the Border Guard High Command, the National Assembly’s Ethnic Council, and the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs agreed on a program to encourage ethnic people in border areas to develop their economy and take part in defending national sovereignty and border security.

Agencies will support ethnic people in socio-economic development, and poverty reduction, encourage the children to attend school, and improve public healthcare. They will also communicate the Party and State guidelines and policies to local people, promote unity, and get people involved in maintaining security and order in border areas.
