Putin warns NATO against closer ties with Ukraine, Georgia

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday warned the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) against cultivating closer ties with Ukraine and Georgia, saying such a policy was irresponsible and would pose direct threats to Russia.

President Putin said at a meeting with Russian diplomats in Moscow that Russia will fight against plans of expanding NATO’s military range. He called for a Russia-NATO joint agenda to reach a common stance and rebuild trust.
