Tet gathering held for Vietnamese in New Zealand

The Vietnamese Embassy in New Zealand hosted a get-together in Auckland for Vietnamese expats and foreign friends to celebrate Tet, Vietnam’s Lunar New Year festival.

Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Viet Dung said he hopes Vietnamese expats will continue to foster people-to-people exchanges and ties between the two countries. He said that the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership has flourished recently.

Vietnam is New Zealand’s 16th largest trade partner with two-way trade totaling 1.2 billion USD. The two nations hope to raise bilateral trade to 1.7 billion USD by 2020, by making economic cooperation a pillar of their relationship.
