UN Security Council calls for de-escalation in Yemen

The UN Security Council on Tuesday called on all sides in Yemen to de-escalate and return to the negotiation table after the killing of ex-president Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Japanese Ambassador to the UN Koro Bessho said that the UN Security Council calls on all sides to re-engage without preconditions in the UN-led efforts to achieve a durable ceasefire. Bessho also said the Security Council strongly condemned the recent airstrikes against Saudi Arabia.
