Venezuela’s President welcomes goodwill by the opposition

Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro on Wednesday welcomed the decision by Venezuela’s right-wing opposition coalition, the MUD, to put off its legal proceedings against Maduro and a march to take place on Thursday.

In a televised speech, Maduro said this is a rational decision in the context of the Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD), a government and opposition coalition, starting negotiations to resolve their political differences.

The same day, Henry Ramos Allup, the National Assembly head and Secretary General of the Democratic Action (AD) Party, said the opposition will make an important decision in the coming days but didn’t give more details.

Secretary General of the MUD Jesus Torrealba urged the government to take steps to continue the dialogue scheduled for next Friday.
