Victims complain of being invited to do online business, losing more than 5 hundred thousand baht

Victims complain to “Lawyer Decha” that they were invited by the company to do online business, losing more than 500,000 baht. It was found that there are 40 victims. They are preparing to file a complaint tomorrow.

In the case of an online business company that operates as a distributor, with products in the health supplement group, with an executive team that is many famous stars, which has been watched by the online world and linked to various news stories that there are suspicions that the online sales are a pyramid scheme or not.

Most recently, at the office of the Lawyer Klai Took, Soi Ram Intra 52/1, a group of people claiming to be victims of the said company filed a complaint with Mr. Decha Kittiwittayanan, or Lawyer Decha, to help with legal proceedings after being tricked into investing and losing 500,000 baht.

Lawyer Decha said that tomorrow (October 10) at 10:00 a.m., he will take 40 victims to file a complaint at the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) regarding a case of a company th
at is suspected of being a mutated direct selling pyramid scheme company. He himself has been contacted by the Royal Thai Police to gather victims to file a complaint in order to begin the investigation process. Most victims started by taking marketing courses. When they went to study, they were persuaded to buy products, which falls under the category of solicitation to invest and direct selling, which is an offense under the Direct Selling Act and may also be a charge of borrowing money in a fraudulent manner.

Ms. Wipharat, the victim, revealed that she started joining the network during the beginning of COVID-19 in 2020. She had no income. Suddenly, a team leader who was a distributor of the said company asked to add her as a friend on Facebook. At first, she wondered who it was because her profile picture had a photo of her with products lined up in the background until she became friends. This team leader recommended that she join his team. When she listened, she felt confident and thought that it was s
omething new and a business that could generate good income. So she applied for the membership, which cost 2,500 baht. After applying, she met with a person she called ‘Boss’ and talked about the products and the background of ‘Boss’ himself, which made her even more believable. So she paid another 25,000 baht to increase her qualifications to another level of distributor and paid another 25,000 baht for a company trip like a seminar. In total, she spent 50,000 baht that day.

The victim said that throughout her time with the company, the trainers never taught her how to sell products online. They only taught her how to cut clips, run ads, and invite people to join their network. During her time in the network, she met some celebrities, but they came in as presenters to invite people to buy the company’s products. After about 5-6 months, she started to lose sales. She consulted with the team leader who advised her to run more ads and invite people to join the network. They did not give any advice on how to se
ll more products. She therefore thought that it was not worth investing in selling products or paying to level up. She lost a total of 500,000 baht.

‘When I came out, I still believed him that everything was as he said. I believed that he was doing business, selling things online, and dressing up luxuriously and looking good, so I invested because I wanted to have more income. The team leader had a way to invite people to spend money on investing by using success as a trick. The company’s goal was to have them find more team members. The products they got were collagen, skin food, and mineral water for skin injection,’ said the victim.

In addition, a telephone interview was conducted with another victim in Chiang Mai province. The victim described the process of being persuaded and tricked into investing in the same manner as Ms. Wiphawan, starting with a membership application for 2,500 baht. Then, she was asked to increase her investment level and invited others to join her network. The victim was able to
invite about 10 more team members, who were relatives, and lost hundreds of thousands of baht, causing her to be so stressed that she even thought of committing suicide.
