Vietnam, Australia relations promoted for mutual benefits

The Vietnam Fatherland Front President Tran Thanh Man is on a working visit to Australia from Wednesday to Sunday.

During his meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives Tony Smith, on Wednesday, both agreed on bilateral commitment towards strategic partnership next year. Tony Smith expressed his view to uphold peaceful measures to solve the East Sea issue, in line with international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. Front President Man said Vietnam respects its relations with Australia and called for local support to the Vietnamese community of 350,000 in the country, particularly in Vietnamese culture and language preservation.
