Vietnam, China promote trade, tourism

(VOVworld) – A workshop was held in the Chinese province of Hunan on Wednesday to promote Vietnam-China cooperation in economics, trade, investment, and tourism.

The event was organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in China and Hunan provincial Department of Commerce as part of the ongoing 2016 ASEAN-Hunan Famous Brand High-Quality Products Trade Fair.

According to an Embassy representative, the Vietnamese government is committed to creating the best possible conditions for foreign enterprises, including those from China, to run their business in Vietnam. Vietnam welcomes China’s investment in construction materials, supporting industry, equipment and machinery, electricity, renewable energy, and green growth, which are suitable with Vieynam’s sustainable development strategy.

In 2015, Vietnam-China trade surpassed 66 billion USD. China has been the biggest trade partner of Vietnam for the past 12 consecutive years, while Vietnam became the largest ASEAN trade partner of China for the first time. The two countries have deepened their cooperation in tourism, education, training, culture, and art and people-to-people exchanges at both central and local levels. China has been the top country of sending tourists to Vietnam and is also one of the most popular destinations for Vietnamese travelers.
