VN commits abundant investment opportunities for Swedish enterprises

PM Phuc made the point on October 6 in Ha Noi while hosting a reception for Swedish Trade Minister Ann Linde who is leading a delegation of Swedish businesses to Viet Nam for business opportunities.

The host leader expressed the gratitude of the Vietnamese Government and people for Swedish peers for the valuable support over the last 40 years.

He was convinced that the traditional ties would flourish positively in all fields.

However, economic cooperation remains modest and the two-way trade turnover fails meet its potential, reaching just US$1.2 billion last year, he said, calling on the two sides to continue speeding up cooperation in order to significantly boost that figure.

The PM said that the Vietnamese Government has sped up the improvement of the business and investment environment to attract investors, including those from Sweden.

He also believed that the upcoming signing of the Viet Nam – EU free trade agreement would open up more cooperation opportunities for business communities of the two countries.

For her part, Minister Ann Linde affirmed that the two countries shared the traditional ties since 1960. She said she hopes for a new chapter in the bilateral ties which rely on not only development cooperation but also fair strategic partnership.

The Minister revealed that she was accompanied by the biggest business delegation which hoped to seek abundant investment opportunities in Viet Nam.

Swedish Minister Linde said that Sweden would further strengthen cooperation with Viet Nam , particularly in the fields of health, education, science and technology, economy, trade and investment.
