Arresting a woman who tricked him into lending her money for investment and then ran away

Crime Suppression Division police arrest woman who tricked her into lending money to invest and then ran off with it. She surrendered and confessed everything.

Police of the Crime Suppression Division led by Pol. Lt. Col. Danrop Samai Chukiat, Superintendent of Investigation Division 6, CSD, and officers of Investigation Division 6, CSD, arrested Ms. Kwanthida, 26 years old, a suspect with an arrest warrant from the Songkhla Provincial Court for ‘fraud by impersonating another person, by fraud or deception, by introducing distorted or forged computer data into the computer system, whether in whole or in part, or computer data that is false in a manner that is likely to cause damage to the public’. The arrest was made in the area of ??Muang Phatthalung Police Station.

The incident occurred because the victim filed a complaint with the investigation officer at Hat Yai Police Station to prosecute Ms. Kwanthida because the accused borrowed hundreds of thousands of baht from the victim, claiming that she would
use the money to invest in selling shoes and clothes online. Before the incident, around the beginning of 2023, the victim met the accused through a dating application and talked continuously. The accused used a profile picture of a pretty young woman who spoke well. They talked until they got along well. About 1 week later, the accused borrowed money from the victim for the first time, tens of thousands of baht, and continued to borrow money 7-8 times, totaling almost 200,000 baht. The victim asked for the money back but did not receive it. Therefore, she filed a complaint with the investigation officer.

Later, the police officers of the Crime Suppression Division 6 tracked down the suspect to several areas until they found out that the suspect had come to stay with his mother in Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. When the police officers went to investigate, they did not find the suspect. They found only his mother, who reported that the suspect had left the house in the morning before the poli
ce officers came to investigate. The suspect contacted the police to surrender himself and would travel to meet the police officers at Mueang Phatthalung Police Station, Phatthalung Province because he knew that the police were following him. He was afraid that he would be arrested. When the suspect appeared, the police arrested him and showed him the arrest warrant and informed him of his rights under the law. The police then arrested the suspect to proceed with legal action. The investigation found that the suspect had committed crimes many times in the South and Central regions.

The initial questioning of the accused revealed that he confessed to all charges. He stated that he had never met the victim’s real face and that the victim had never even seen the suspect’s face once.
