Delivering accident insurance policies to social volunteers

Insurance business join hands to deliver accident insurance policies to volunteers for society to protect against disasters and build morale, helping victims total 240 million baht. The Office of the Insurance Commission (OIC) in collaboration with the Thai General Insurance Association, the Thai Life Assurance Association, the Thai Insurance Brokers Association, and the Life Insurance and Financial Advisors Association presented group accident insurance policies for social volunteers. Representatives from 6 social volunteer organizations, namely, the Volunteer Friends in Need (Por.) Foundation in Need, the Thai Red Cross Society, the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, the Siam Ruamjai Pu In Foundation, the Sen Dai Foundation, the Do Good Organization Foundation, and the Jai Tung Jai, Thais Never Abandon Each Other volunteer group, were the recipients of accident insurance policies for social volunteers, with a total insured value of over 240,000,000 baht, at the 2nd floor conference room of the Advanced Insurance Ins titute, the Office of the Insurance Commission, Ratchadaphisek Road, Bangkok. Mr. Chuchat Pramulpol, Secretary-General of the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC), revealed that the OIC has been closely monitoring the flood situation and is concerned about the people affected by the flood in all sectors, including the volunteer group for society. It was found that this group of people will be the first group to devote themselves, sacrifice, and devote their physical and mental strength to the area to provide assistance to the people affected by the flood in the critical situation quickly. With concern and recognition of the importance of social volunteers, including promoting and supporting the insurance system as a tool for risk management in performing duties and to create morale for social volunteers, the 'Insurance Operation Center for Disaster Management and Assistance' (ICD), which is an integration of insurance business agencies with the Office of the Insurance Commission as the center, has provided 'Accident Insurance Policy for Social Volunteers' to social volunteers, supported by insurance premiums from the Office of the Insurance Commission, Thai General Insurance Association, Thai Life Assurance Association, Thai Insurance Brokers Association, and the Life and Financial Advisors Association. This is a group accident insurance policy (PA) for volunteers from the above agencies, totaling more than 1,200 persons, with an insurance period of 1 year and coverage in the event of death, loss of limbs, eyesight, or permanent total disability (Ob.1), providing coverage of an insurance amount of 200,000 baht per person. In the event of murder or assault, the insurance amount is 200,000 baht per person. In the event of death while driving or riding a motorcycle. Provides coverage of an insurance amount of 100,000 baht per person, except in cases where the intoxicated person performs his/her duties, in which case the insured person will not be covered by the said insurance policy. The OIC Secretary-General add ed that in providing insurance policies to social volunteers this time, the OIC Office received excellent cooperation from the insurance industry, which recognizes the importance of the social volunteers' performance.
