Dow Thailand Group (Dow), a world-class materials science company, together with partners, are organizing the 6th FIRST® Tech Challenge Thailand Robotics Championship to compete for the Royal Trophy bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, along with scholarships and the right to represent the Thai national team in international competitions in the United States.

Mrs. Phornni Kong-amornpinyo, Director of Corporate Affairs, Southeast Asia, Dow Thailand Group, said that currently, the Thai industrial sector has been using Robotics a lot, not only in the automotive industry, but also in the petrochemical industry. Robotics are also being integrated into the process, helping human work to be more efficient. Therefore, we believe that the education in Robotics of Thai youth will become an important force in the sustainable development of Thai industries, allowing Thailand to have its own technology and overcome the middle income countries. Therefore, we have continuously organized the FIRS
T® Tech Challenge Thailand robot championship. The youth who participate in this robot competition will have the opportunity to be selected as Thailand’s representative to participate in the international FIRST® Tech Challenge competition, as well as exchange knowledge on robot development from fellow youth teams and world-class experts, creating a learning community for the new generation for the future. They will help with programming design and systematically apply STEM knowledge to create works, which will be very beneficial in using the knowledge, experience, and inspiration gained to develop skills, further develop research projects, and develop prototype robots for education and commercial use, both in the industrial and service sectors.

Applications for teams to join the 6th FIRST® Tech Challenge Thailand robot competition are now open from September 4 – October 25, 2024. Interested parties can learn more at the FIRST® Tech Challenge Thailand website and Facebook page at http://www.ftcthailand.org/ a
