Election Commission confirms ‘Thin Ka Khao’ has branches in all 4 regions, but has not yet updated data in the system.

Bangkok, The Election Commission confirmed that 'Thin Ka Khao' has just established branches in all 4 regions within 1 year as required by law, but the registrar has not yet been informed, so the information in the system has not been updated. It revealed that the party is preparing to set up another branch in Phitsanulok to support the process of sending candidates. Today (August 11), Mr. Sa-nguan Boonmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission and Registrar of Political Parties, spoke about the case of Dr. Warong Dechgitvigrom, leader of the Thai Phakdee Party, who will submit a request to the Election Commission to dissolve the Prachachon Party because the Thin Ka Khao Chaow Wilai Party, which will change its name to the Prachachon Party, has not established 4 party branches. He said that according to the political party law, all party activities will be complete immediately when the party has carried out the process. However, if it is submitted to the Registrar of Political Parties and it is found that the process was not carried out correctly, it will have retroactive effects that will invalidate the action. In the case of the establishment of a party branch of the Thin Ka Khao Chaow Wilai Party, it was found that 1 week earlier, there was a meeting to establish the missing party branches until they were complete, and the establishment period was within the 1-year period specified by law. The matter has now been forwarded to the Registrar of Political Parties in accordance with the procedure. 'The matter was just submitted to the office. Normally, for a party branch establishment meeting, the registrar of political parties will send officials to observe. When the meeting is over, the activity will have legal effect immediately. However, the legal procedure requires that the registrar of political parties be notified, and the registrar will first check whether the establishment in the area is correct or not. Did the members attend the meeting as required by law? If the meeting is correct, there is no problem. The registrar will be notified. However, if the inspection finds that it is not correct, the meeting will be invalidated and must be re-proceeded to make it correct. As long as the registrar of political parties is not notified, it will not be entered into the office's database. Therefore, at present, this information is not yet available on the EC website.' Mr. Saeng also said that he knew that the Khao Khao Wilai Party was currently in the process of setting up another party branch in Phitsanulok Province. If the establishment meeting is completed, the process of sending candidates to run for election to fill vacant positions can be carried out immediately. Source: Thai News Agency
