Employees of foreign NGOs in Vietnam vaccinated against COVID-19

More than 1,000 employees of foreign non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Hanoi, including over 100 foreigners, received COVID-19 vaccine shots on July 13.

Michael Brosowski, Co-CEO and founder of Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation, said 70 employees of his organisation, including three foreign staff members, were inoculated this time, under the vaccination programme held by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations in coordination with the Vietnamese Ministry of Health.

Heidi Quine, Bear and Vet Team Director at Animals Asia Foundation, expressed her gratitude to the Vietnamese government for its favourable treatment for foreigners working in the country.

Quine said she feels much more confident after getting the vaccine shot, and noted her hope that Vietnam’s vaccination rollout as well as its efforts in COVID-19 prevention and control will soon gain success.

VUFO aims to provide COVID-19 vaccination to employees of foreign NGOs in 56 other cities and province.

Nguyen Ngoc Hung, head of the People’s Aid Coordinating Committee (PACCOM), said one of the major tasks of VUFO is to help arrange vaccination against OVID-19 for the NGOs./.
