In the north of Sukhothai, the water is still high and spreading widely. The mass of water is flowing in.

Northern districts of Sukhothai, both Sawankhalok and Si Samrong, are still flooded and are spreading widely after water from Phrae Province continued to flow in. Villagers said the water would rise even higher, but the Yom River flowing through Sukhothai City has receded.

Up until now, a large mass of water from Wang Chin District, Phrae Province, at a volume of more than 1,700 cubic meters per second, has started to flow into the northern districts of Sukhothai, which will cause the flooding to increase and spread out. For example, in Wang Yai Village, Sang Yai Subdistrict, Si Samrong District, which is the last checkpoint to receive water before entering Sukhothai City, after the embankment blocking the Yom River broke, the water flooding the houses is still almost 2 meters high. It can be said that a single-story house almost covers the roof. The house is raised another cubit higher to the second floor. Grandpa Phongsak, who lives with his beloved cat, Thong, sleeping and guarding his belongings, said t
hat he is worried that the floodwater will rise because the water from the north is still coming in. Or at Brother Jare’s house, which is a single-story house, the water is almost covering the roof. He has to come out and sleep on the e-taek truck that has been parked on the side of the road for 3 nights.

The Yom River from Wang Chin District, Phrae Province has reached Si Satchanalai and will enter Sawankhalok, where several embankments and banks have collapsed, causing flooding of houses in several villages before the water flows through the Hat Saphan Chan water gate, which holds back water and drains it to the Yom-Nan Canal, where several embankments have also collapsed, reducing the amount of water reaching Si Samrong, where two major embankments have collapsed. This will cause flooding in Sawankhalok and Si Samrong Districts to spread. As a result, the water level in the Yom River flowing through Sukhothai Province has dropped to 7.55 meters today, 60 centimeters below the embankment.
