Money-making career: Jar noodles, reduce costs, earn half a thousand a day

A vendor has an idea to turn a jar into a gas-saving stove, generating 50,000 baht in income per day. Customers flock in every day.

Chicken and bitter melon noodle shop on the side of Chaeng Sanit Road, Ban Prachasan, Tad Thong Subdistrict, Mueang District, Yasothon Province. It may look like a regular noodle shop, but this shop uses a dragon jar as a stove, which has become the shop’s signature feature.

The reason for using a dragon jar as a stove for boiling soup and boiling noodles is because it saves more than half of the cost. By drilling 2 holes in the jar, 1 hole is used for the gas line and 1 hole for heat dissipation. This method makes the noodle pot heat up quickly and at a constant temperature.

Mr. Rampai, 59 years old, the shop owner, said that he has been running the chicken and bitter melon noodle shop for over 10 years. He thought of using a jar as a stove for the noodle pot because it helps block the wind well and keeps the heat of the soup pot constant. Importantly, it saves gas costs by
almost double. Originally, a tank of gas could only be used for 3 days, but now that a jar is used as a stove like this, gas can be used for up to 5 days.

The shop is packed with customers every day. Open Monday-Saturday. There are many menus. Prices start at 45 baht. Every menu is guaranteed to be delicious because it sells out every day. Guaranteed by sales of more than 100 bowls per day.
