OIC joins hands with insurance industry to help flood victims

The Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) joins hands with the insurance business sector to help flood victims in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai by reporting damage claims. Ms. Wasumdee Wasinon, Deputy Secretary-General for the supervision of intermediaries and regional insurance, Office of the Insurance Commission (OIC), revealed that the impact of storm 'Yagi' caused heavy rain in the North, flooding and landslides, especially in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai provinces over the past week. The OIC, together with the insurance industry, rushed to the area to provide urgent assistance to flood victims by providing survival bags, drinking water, dried food, ropes and safety equipment. Establish insurance assistance centers in each province to accept incident reports, provide insurance information, and explain insurance benefits to disaster victims through all channels, including support for vehicle repairs, restoration of damaged residences and businesses, and follow up and expedite inspections of flooded property dam age. Therefore, people who have purchased car insurance, home insurance, property insurance, personal accident insurance, and life insurance who have been damaged by this incident are requested to promptly notify the insurance company so that they can take care of and manage claims promptly. Initially, the OIC recommends that people who are covered by insurance keep initial damage information for ease of claim notification, such as photos of damaged vehicles or property.
