OR presents the award for the best environmentally friendly innovation, ‘Green Innovation Contest’

Bangkok, 8 August - OR organizes the 'Green Innovation Contest' to search for the best environmentally friendly innovations to compete for the Royal Trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Ms. Rachasuda Rangsiyakul, Executive Vice President, Special Affairs 1, PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR), presented awards and congratulated the winning teams from the 'Green Innovation Contest' 2024. The 'Green Innovation Contest' was organized for the first time under the theme 'Green Innovation for a Sustainable World', aiming to encourage Thai youth to demonstrate their potential in solving environmental problems through the creation of innovations and inventions, which is an important step in effective waste management and can be further developed to benefit society, communities, and the country. More than 100 teams of youth from all over the country submitted their work to the contest. The winning teams are as follows: The winner received a trophy from Her Royal Highne ss Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, a certificate, and a scholarship of 30,000 baht. The winner is Team C-dots Coating Cell, with their innovative spray film coating for solar cells to increase the efficiency of electricity production using carbon dot nanoparticles from agricultural waste materials. 1st runner-up: Team Plankton collector, with their work Solar-powered intelligent plankton collecting robot, received a gold medal, certificate and a scholarship of 20,000 baht. The second runner-up award went to the Bio-Farmer team with their project 'Automatic Household Waste Bio-Farmer', which received a silver medal, certificates, and a 10,000 baht scholarship. In addition, consolation prizes were awarded to the other 12 teams that made it to the finals, along with bronze medals, certificates, and a 5,000 baht scholarship. In addition to the presentation of the work of the 15 shortlisted teams, there were also exhibition booths showcasing each team's innovations, including OR's Circular Economy booth, which reflected the business operations that focus on creating value for society, communities, and the environment. There were also fun activities such as sharing opinions and prize-grabbing activities to win eco-friendly prizes. The entire event was designed to minimize waste generation.
