Phra Live asks for help after temple is surrounded by floodwaters

The flood situation in Chiang Rai Province is still concerning. Wat Phasukaram, Mae Sai Subdistrict, Mae Sai District, is surrounded by water. Monks and relatives have been unable to go anywhere since yesterday evening (10 September), so they went live on Facebook asking for help.

This is the voice of Phra Akijjano Bhikkhu, a monk at Wat Phasukaram, Ban Mai Lung Khan, Mae Sai Subdistrict, Mae Sai District, live on Facebook and shared on the Chiang Rai News Page at around 8 a.m. this morning, showing the floodwaters that have surrounded the temple, making it impossible to go anywhere since yesterday evening (September 10). The water almost covers the roofs of the cars of the devotees who came to make merit. Outside the temple, cars can be seen floating downstream, as well as houses and shops. Any house with a single story has to be evacuated to another place.

By Luang Phi Live, alms round, asking for help from any agency, especially food. There are 4 monks, 8 novices, temple staff, including relatives and l
aypeople who came to make merit at the temple since yesterday morning and encountered flooding and were unable to return home, totaling about 39 people. Now everyone has to flee for their lives to a 3-story building. Relatives and laypeople are on the 2nd floor, while monks are on the 3rd floor. Right now, they only have clothing, but no rice or drinking water. I would like any agency or anyone who is looking after this to contact to help.

‘Uncle Red Tent’ has been rescued after being trapped in the water for over 20 hours.

Another incident that needs to be monitored is the case of Uncle Red Tent, who has been trapped on the roof of a pork butcher’s tent in the Lung Khan Wood Market area, Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province, since yesterday afternoon (September 10) until this morning (September 11), which is more than 20 hours, and they still haven’t been able to help the uncle because the water current is very strong.

The latest at 10.45 am, the page Kan Jom Phalang live-streamed using a jet ski through
the current to pick up the old man. It was later discovered that the old man was 86 years old and had already been rescued amidst the excitement of all parties. Now, the Kan Jom Phalang team has taken the old man to the hospital for further treatment amidst the relief of all parties who have been following and giving encouragement to the old man for over 20 hours.
