Security guard stabs elderly caretaker to death in the middle of the road

A hot-headed security guard stabbed a housekeeper who was taking care of an elderly person 11 times, causing a tragic death. The incident was due to an argument about road repairs in front of the house.

CCTV footage shows a woman pushing a wheelchair for an elderly person walking past the camera, but suddenly she is attacked by a man in dark clothing holding a weapon. Despite trying to fight back, she is stabbed to the ground, while the elderly and villagers standing at the scene watch.

Police at Thammasala Police Station received a report of a fight involving a knife that resulted in a death in a village on Soi Phutthamonthon Sai 2, Bang Khae Nuea Subdistrict, Thawi Watthana District, Bangkok. They went to investigate the scene and found the body of Ms. Phakakrong, a 55-year-old Kalasin native who had been stabbed 11 times in the body. Nearby, they found a blood-stained knife with a pointed tip. The perpetrator, Mr. Somdet, 56, a security guard at the village, was waiting to surrender to the police.

The
investigation found that the deceased had worked as a housekeeper taking care of the elderly for 2 years. Before the incident, the district office had repaired the road, poured asphalt in front of the house where the deceased worked, and put traffic cones to block the road while waiting for the asphalt to dry completely. As for Mr. Somdet, he had been a village security guard for over 1 year and often argued with the deceased. Mr. Somdet tried to take the traffic cone out, telling the deceased that it had been 2 days and should be dry by now, but the deceased told him not to take it out, which led to an argument.

Before the incident, the deceased left the house at the end of the alley to pick up an elderly person who was in a wheelchair. The elderly person’s granddaughter pushed the wheelchair to the scene of the incident. While the deceased was pushing the wheelchair for the elderly person, the perpetrator brought a knife and rushed at the deceased, saying, “I’m going to kill you.” The perpetrator then stab
bed the deceased several times until he was still and stood waiting to surrender to the police.

Initially, the officers charged him with intentional murder and carrying a knife in public without permission before sending him to the investigation officer at Thammasala Police Station to proceed with legal action. The body of the deceased was sent for an autopsy at the Department of Forensic Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, before coordinating with relatives to come and take him back for religious ceremonies.

The deceased’s eldest daughter met with investigators for further questioning. She said that her mother was a fun person with no problems at work. Her employer was good. She had started working since Songkran last year. As for the problems with the security guard who caused the incident, her mother never told her about them. From what she had heard, there was a problem with traffic cones blocking the front of the house. Before the incident, her mother called her but she didn’t answer. If she could turn back ti
me, that would be the last time she talked to her mother. She wanted to tell her mother that she was sorry she didn’t answer the phone.
