“What’s Her Secret?”

“What’s Her Secret?”

LONDON, England, Feb. 14, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Sonantic, a leader in developing fully expressive AI-generated voice software for film and gaming studios, has produced a video in collaboration with a Hollywood client entitled “What’s Her Secret?” The video surprises viewers when it’s revealed that, while the woman on screen is a real person, the main character speaking is an AI. Launched on Valentine’s Day, the video aims to demonstrate how entertainment studios can leverage AI to create hyper-realistic romantic encounters.

More Emotional Than Ever Before: Innovation in AI Voice Tech
“What’s Her Secret?” marks both a significant milestone for Sonantic as the company releases their latest breakthroughs of subtle emotions and non-speech sounds, while opening up creative possibilities for studios. The voice models, known for expressing a wide range of human emotions from happiness to sadness, can now convey subtleties such as flirty, coy and teasing, amongst other new “Style” options. Sonantic has also developed the ability to capture non-speech sounds such as breaths, scoffs, and laughs. Together, these advancements in speech synthesis make Sonantic’s platform more comprehensive than ever before. These latest capabilities stem from Sonantic’s proprietary technology, which helps entertainment studios create life-like performances in record time.

“Human beings are incredibly complex by nature and our voices play a critical role in helping us connect with the world around us. At Sonantic, we are committed to capturing the nuances of the human voice, and we’re incredibly proud of these technological breakthroughs that we have brought to life through ‘What’s Her Secret?,’” said Zeena Qureshi, CEO, and John Flynn, CTO of Sonantic. “From flirting and giggling to breathing and pausing, this is the most realistic romantic demo we’ve created to date, helping us inch closer to our vision of being the CGI of Audio.”

The Psychology of Voice, Attraction & Connection
Dr. Maggie Vaughan, a New York City-based psychotherapist who specializes in romantic relationships, said there are key elements in speech patterns, tone and pacing that make or break a flirtatious conversation, all of which are featured in “What’s Her Secret?”

5 Qualities of an Attractive Voice

  • Manage your tempo: slow down to create suspense; speed up to create excitement.
  • Gently smile when speaking, which subconsciously helps you sound more likable.
  • Take a deep breath and clear your throat so the words flow smoothly.
  • Keep a smooth, consistent pace to create a strong sense of control and confidence.
  • Speak in a slightly lower tone than usual; humans prefer soft spoken over loud.

Interviews with Sonantic or Dr. Vaughan are available upon request.

National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will launch online check-in service for passengers departing from Lien Khuong Airport in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong’s Da Lat city from February 16.

This is the 10th domestic airport the carrier provides this service after Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, Van Don, Cat Bi, Vinh, Chu Lai and Con Dao.

According to Vietnam Airlines, the expansion of its airport network applying online check-in service is one of its efforts to achieve the goal of a digital airline.

Passengers can save time by check-in online via website www.vietnamairlines.com or mobile app within 24 hours until 60 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time.

After completing the online check-in process, passengers will receive an “Online Boarding Pass” via email or can print it. They can go straight to the security checkpoint and boarding gate without having to go to the airline’s check-in counters at the airport for confirming their bookings. Those with checked baggage can complete procedures at the designated check-in counters.

Online check-in service does not only help passengers’ trips go smoothly and quickly with just a few simple steps but also helps limit queuing and gathering of many people at the airport.

Over the years, the carrier has been developing self-check-in forms at domestic airports and will continue to expand the service in the future to improve customer experiences. With the goal of becoming a 5-star international airline, Vietnam Airlines is studying and deploying innovations to give passengers a complete and comfortable flight experience.

Insurers expect recovery in premium revenue growth

Accelerating the digital transformation process not only helps insurance businesses transform during the COVID-19 pandemic but also is considered the foundation for growth in the economic recovery.

With the current push in digital transformation, experts from SSI Securities Corporation believe that E-insurance certificates will gradually be legalised for other insurance products, such as health insurance and property damage insurance. Therefore, sales through online channels will also gradually grow.

Besides being a key driver of the recovery in demand, premium revenue growth could come from partnering with fintech companies to boost innovation in data analysis, helping insurance companies diversify products and distribution channels in the future.

Previously, premium revenue growth was hit hard by strict social distancing orders.

Data from SSI show that in the third quarter of 2021, gross written premium (GWP) and new business premium (NBP) of life insurance recorded the lowest growth rate ever, up 8.5 percent year-on-year and negative 10.5 percent, respectively.

Non-life insurance premium revenue decreased by 12 percent compared to the same period of 2020.

Some stages in the life insurance sales process such as health checks and buyers’ direct signatures have been interrupted during social distancing, affecting revenues of life insurance businesses.

For non-life insurance, the demand for auto insurance, personal accident insurance and travel insurance, which normally contribute about 50 percent of total premium revenue, was low during the period.

According to experts from SSI, the use of a common database on compulsory insurance of civil liability of motor vehicle owners with motor vehicle registration information, road traffic safety violations, and traffic accident histories can help insurance companies better classify customers.

Meanwhile, Decree 3 also allows insurance companies to increase premiums by up to 15 percent compared to the level set by the Ministry of Finance, based on the accident history of each motor vehicle and its risk tolerance capacity. This is likely to help insurers increase premiums on higher-risk contracts instead of applying the same price to all contracts as before.

Changes in regulations on electronic certificates, if any, will also have a positive impact on the online sales channel, with revenues increasing while the intermediary costs for agents and brokers may gradually decline.

Previously, insurers received positive signals from the news of State divestment and the rise of the foreign ownership ratio in insurance companies to a maximum level last August.

Accordingly, on the national investment portal, the Ministry of Planning and Investment has officially updated market access conditions for foreign investors, which clearly states the foreign owner limit (FOL) for the insurance industry is 100 percent.

The move has removed difficulties for many insurance companies such as Bao Minh Insurance Corporation, Post and Telecommunication Joint Stock Insurance Corporation, and Petrolimex Insurance Corporation, which raised their foreign ownership rates in recent years.

Some companies then reported to the State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC) the increase of FOL to 100 percent like PTI, or 49 percent like Bao Viet Holdings.

The KIS Vietnam Securities Corporation said that the general insurance market was dominated by State-owned companies. Therefore, the change in ownership structure and the penetration of foreign investors make the market’s outlook more promising.

However, the securities firm warned that the low-interest-rate environment continued to be a challenge for the growth of businesses in the insurance market.

Thailand proposes incentives for electric vehicle industry

The National Electric Vehicle Policy Committee (NEVPC) of Thailand planned to submit a proposal on incentive for investment in developing electric vehicle (EV) industry to the Thai government on February 15.

If the proposal is not considered at the Cabinet meeting on February 15, the Thai government is expected to consider this issue in the first quarter of 2022 in order to promote the Southeast Asian country’s electric vehicle development plan.

Thai Deputy Minister of Finance Santi Promphat said the EV industry will first receive a package of import tax cut, including excise tax and a subsidy on distribution of electric vehicles nationwide towards reducing the selling price of this environmentally friendly vehicle.

Sati said the proposal is hoped to help lower the price by up to 150,000 THB (nearly 5,000 USD) for big electric vehicles and tens of thousands of baht for small ones.
