Vietnam always stands united with Cuba: President Nguyen Xuan Phuc

 

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has affirmed that Vietnam always stands united with and supports fraternal Cuba amid complicated developments in the world.

 

During a meeting in Hanoi on September 29 with Prime Minister of Cuba Manuel Marrero Cruz, who is on a Vietnam visit from September 28 – October 2, President Phuc conveyed sympathy of the Vietnamese Party, State and people to Cuba over the fuel storage facility fire in Matanzas city on August 5 and the consequences of Ian typhoon on September 27.

 

He also hailed the results of talks between the two Prime Ministers, which he said will contribute to consolidating bilateral ties.

 

PM Manuel Marrero Cruz stressed that Cuba always treasures and wishes to further deepen the special traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam.

 

He expressed readiness to learn from Vietnam’s experience in socio-economic development and global integration, as well as its response to global economic challenges.

 

The two leaders expressed determination to further deepen the exemplary Vietnam-Cuba relationship founded by Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Fidel Castro and nurtured by generations of the two countries’ leaders and people, and agreed to intensify education of young generations in the Vietnam-Cuba special friendship.

 

They reached consensus on promoting economic, trade and investment ties to be commensurate with the two countries’ fine political relations, with focus on agriculture, health care, finance-banking, sci-tech. They will also continue with consultations and mutual support at international organisations and multilateral forums, especially at the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement.

 

Cuba always highly values the solidarity and sincere support that the Vietnamese Party, State and people have offered to the Cuban people over the past time, particularly in rice supply and food production, Cruz said.

 

He noted that the two countries will hold important activities marking the 50th anniversary of Gen. Fidel Castro’s historic visit to Vietnam’s southern liberation zone and the 40th anniversary of Vietnam – Cuba Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation this year, Cruz expressed his belief that the close fraternal ties between Vietnam and Cuba will enter a new development period, for the benefit of the two peoples and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the two regions and the world./.

Malaysia Airlines drops mandatory face mask rules on flights

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) – the parent company of Malaysia Airlines – has announced that the mandatory face mask wearing on planes will be lifted and effective immediately, depending on the discretion of the destination countries.

 

The decision was made shortly after Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said on September 28 that Malaysia should lift the mask mandate on commercial flights.

 

Earlier, MAG Group CEO Izham Ismail informed Minister Khairy about the features available on aircraft, including the system of air circulation in the cabin, where cabin air is refreshed 20 to 30 times per hour and the use of a high-efficiency particulate air filters, which have the capability to filter 99.9% of airborne contaminants, including viruses and bacteria.

 

However, MAG encourages passengers who are in poor physical condition, high-risk individuals, and those traveling with high-risk individuals to continue wearing masks on board./.

Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son pays official visit to Austria

 

Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son paid an official visit to Austria on September 28 and 29, which is an important event when the two countries are marking the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties (1972-2022).

 

During the visit, FM Son paid a courtesy call to President of the National Council of Austria Wolfgang Sobotka, held talks with his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg, met with Minister for Digital and Economic Affairs Martin Kocher and Minister for the EU and Constitution at the Federal Chancellery of Austria Karoline Edtstadler.

 

During the meetings with Austrian leaders, the FM affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to the traditional friendship and cooperation with Austria. He took the occasion to propose that the two sides increase the exchange of delegations, especially those at high level, and discuss with the Austrian side measures to further expand and deepen multi-faceted collaboration between the two countries.

 

The Austrian leaders all affirmed respect for Vietnam’s role and position in the Asia-Pacific region, and expressed a hope to enhance the bilateral ties in politics-diplomacy, economy, trade, investment, renewable energy and health care.

 

The two sides noted with joy that political collaboration and regular high-level contact and visits in the past time have contributed to creating political trust between the two countries and an impetus for cooperation.

 

Due to the positive effect of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), trade and investment have become a bright spot in Vietnam-Austria ties, with bilateral trade reaching 3.35 billion USD, up nearly 14% from 2020.

 

The two sides agreed to continue with close coordination to fully tap opportunities created by the EVFTA and facilitate market access for each other’s exports.    The Austrian side took note for consideration the Vietnamese FM’s proposal that the Austrian parliament early ratify the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement and the Austrian Government support the early removal of the EU’s yellow card on Vietnam’s seafood.

 

The two sides also discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation to new fields such as green finance, renewable energy and environmental protection.

 

Regarding international cooperation, the two sides agreed to continue coordinating and supporting each other at multilateral organizations and forums, particularly the UN and the ASEAN-EU strategic partnership.

 

The two sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern, and shared the stance on settling disputes by peaceful measures based on international law and the UN Charter as well as respect for the 1992 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

 

During the visit, the Vietnamese FM also attended the opening ceremony of a “Vietnamese Cultural Space”, the Vietnam – Austria Business Forum and a ceremony to mark the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Austria diplomatic ties, and met with officials and staff of Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Austria./.

Constructed on an all-new modern platform, Forge is designed to provide the richest combination of advanced imaging features in the industry and is engineered to handle the most complex vision system challenges both now and into the future.

Available in Q4, the first models extend the Genie Nano 5GigE sensor offering by integrating 5 to 24 MP Sony Pregius Gen 4 Global Shutter CMOS sensors. In addition to supporting link speeds of 1, 2.5, and 5GigE, Forge offers burst mode to capture images at speeds up to 10Gb/s into memory. This, combined with a 500 MB image buffer, allows engineers to rapidly capture information in bursts for high-speed applications.
