A famous university’s sightseeing bus crashed into the back of a truck carrying pigs, injuring more than 30 people.

A study bus from a famous university returning from a camp crashed into the back of a pig truck on Phetkasem Road in Nakhon Pathom Province. More than 30 people were injured and sent to the hospital.

Nakhon Pathom City Police Station received a report of a school bus accident where a 10-wheel truck carrying pigs hit the back of a 10-wheel truck, resulting in many students being injured. The accident occurred on Phetkasem Road, heading towards Bangkok, in front of the OTOP product sales center in Mueang District, Nakhon Pathom Province. They therefore traveled to investigate and coordinated with the Suksalanugroh Foundation of Nakhon Pathom to help the injured and send them to the hospital. Initial findings showed that there were 34 first- to fourth-year students who were sent to Bangkok Hospital Samchan and Synphaet Hospital. One student stated that there were 47 students on the bus.

At the scene, fellow students from another bus got out to help move their friend’s belongings downstairs. The bus’s windshiel
d was broken, and the side doors were tightly packed and could not be opened. The driver got out and opened the back doors to get the injured person out of the bus and take him to the hospital.

From asking friends in the study group, it was learned that all of them were students from a university. They went on a study trip to Suan Phueng, Ratchaburi Province, 2 buses and were returning. When they reached the scene of the accident, there was a pig truck in front. Suddenly, the brakes were applied. The bus hit the back of the bus with great force. Students were scattered in the bus and many were injured. After the accident, the driver tried to open the door to get the injured person out, but the door was jammed tightly and could not be opened. The driver then went to open the back door of the bus to help take the injured person to the hospital.

Mr. Sinchai, a pig truck driver, said that he received 130 pigs from a farm in Ratchaburi to deliver to Nakhon Pathom. At that time, there was a long traffic jam, with
all the vehicles following one another until a car cut in front of him. He braked suddenly. The bus driving behind him could not brake in time, so it crashed into the back of his truck.
