Hanoi: Vietnam’s agro-forestry-fisheries sector is on track to hit a record 67 billion USD in export revenue this year, provided it sustains a monthly pace of 5 billion USD through the remaining months. Even amid setbacks from storms, floods, and livestock disease outbreaks, the sector logged a robust 3.83% expansion over the first nine months, Tien said.
According to Vietnam News Agency, agro-forestry-fishery exports amassed 52.31 billion USD during that period, marking a 14% gain year-on-year. The trade surplus also swelled by 17.6%, reaching a projected 15.93 billion USD.
The positive trajectory comes despite challenges posed by natural disasters and disease, demonstrating the sector’s resilience and capacity for growth. The government’s focus on boosting the sector appears to be yielding dividends, as the country continues to strengthen its position in the global market.
Industry experts are optimistic about the sector’s performance, attributing success to enhanced production techniques and strategic market expansions. If the current momentum is maintained, Vietnam could witness unprecedented export figures, setting a new benchmark for the agro-forestry-fisheries industry in the region.
