Hanoi: AI-powered cameras will replace police, automatically detect violations around the clock, and send violation notifications within 2 hours, according to the Traffic Police Department. By using a surveillance camera system integrated with artificial intelligence (AI), the department’s command centre can automatically identify traffic violations and disruptive behaviours, and retrace the route of a vehicle suspected of causing an accident. Currently, AI can identify about 20 violations of both cars and motorbikes.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the introduction of this AI technology marks a significant advancement in traffic management and law enforcement efficiency. The AI system is designed to handle a wide range of scenarios, ensuring a seamless and prompt response to violations. The capability to track and analyze vehicle movements will aid in the investigation of accidents and enhance road safety measures.
