Hanoi: Vietnam's aviation sector recorded a total of 1.68 million passengers during the Hung Kings Commemoration Day and Reunification Day-May Day holiday periods (from April 25 to 27, and from April 30 to May 3), reflecting a 2.2% increase compared to the same period last year.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) reported that total cargo throughput reached 27,450 tonnes, representing a year-on-year increase of 7.2%. While domestic air travel experienced declines, with 675,140 passengers and 3,400 tonnes of cargo, marking decreases of 7.5% and 11.6% respectively, international transport showed strong growth. International passenger numbers surpassed 1 million, and cargo volume reached 24,050 tonnes, both increasing by 10% and 10.6% respectively.
