All over Thailand, people make merit by giving alms on King Naresuan the Great Day.

All provinces across Thailand, all sectors join together to make merit by offering alms to monks and organize various activities on the occasion of King Naresuan the Great Day to offer merit to His Majesty.

At the multipurpose pavilion by the Mekong River, Khao Mao Road, Bueng Kan Province, Mr. Jumpot Wannachatsiri, Governor of Bueng Kan Province, presided over the Buddhist chanting ceremony and made merit by offering alms to 84 monks to dedicate merit to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great on the occasion of “King Naresuan the Great Day”, 13 October 2024, with heads of government agencies, civil servants and members of the public wearing yellow tones participating in the ceremony.

And at 09.30 a.m., there will be a wreath-laying ceremony and royal salute at Bueng Kan Provincial Hall, followed by a volunteer activity, We Do Good with Our Hearts, at Bueng Kan Public Park, to express loyalty and commemorate the great kindness of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, who has immeasurable gra
ce for all Thai people.

Similarly, in Phatthalung Province, Mrs. Nisakorn Wisitsora-at, Governor of Phatthalung Province, led government officials and citizens of Phatthalung Province in making merit by offering alms to monks to honor the King on the anniversary of the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great. There was a Buddhist prayer ceremony by 10 monks from various temples in Phatthalung Province.

In Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Municipality, together with Sala Poon Worawihan Temple, held a merit-making ceremony on the occasion of King Naresuan the Great Day, with Phra Wachiropas, the abbot of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District and abbot of Sala Poon Worawihan Temple, presiding over the clergy, along with 10 high-ranking monks chanting Buddhist prayers and leading 89 monks and novices on a walk to receive alms.

Mr. Pradit Rattanakomol, Chairman of the Islamic Committee of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, led Muslims to ask for blessings from God to offe
r as royal merit to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great. After that, they paid their respects to the portrait of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, laid wreaths, and released 999,910 fish to offer as royal merit to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great on the anniversary of his death on October 13, 2024. Four elephants from the Ayutthaya Elephant Palace and Corral also joined the ceremony.
