Hanoi:The Mekong Delta province of An Giang is enhancing its transport and logistics connections between international border gates and the Chau Doc-Can Tho-Soc Trang Expressway. This initiative aims to facilitate cross-border trade and develop the border economy.
According to Vietnam News Agency, An Giang, which shares a nearly 148-kilometer land border with Cambodia, has four international border gates: Tinh Bien, Ha Tien, Vinh Xuong, and Khanh Binh. These gates border the Cambodian provinces of Kandal, Takeo, and Kampot.
The province plans to improve transport links to these border gates and promote both road and waterway transport. Additionally, An Giang intends to modernize border-gate management through the application of science, technology, and digital transformation, working towards establishing digital and smart border gates.
Efforts will also be made to attract investment in trade, services, and logistics. The province aims to strengthen connections between industrial and production zones within An Giang and the broader Mekong Delta region with the Cambodian market. This strategy is expected to turn border areas into new drivers of trade, services, employment, and business opportunities.
