Another arrest for illegally cutting rosewood in Khao Yai National Park

Prachin Buri, The chief of Khao Yai National Park revealed that patrol officers have arrested another rosewood logging gang. Today’s case involved two suspects, along with evidence of rosewood logs and equipment used to commit the crime. They have been sent to Prachin Buri City Police Station for legal proceedings.

Mr. Chaiya Huaihongthong, Chief of Khao Yai National Park, said that the patrolling team arrested rosewood loggers in the forest of the Mot Daeng mountain range near Wat Tham Phuttajaro, Dong Khilek Subdistrict, Mueang District, Prachin Buri Province. They arrested 2 suspects along with evidence including 3 pieces of rosewood, 1 crossbow saw, 1 scythe saw, 1 rope, 2 logging wheels.

The arrest of illegal loggers in Khao Yai National Park this evening was the second arrest of the day. They will be sent to Prachin Buri City Police Station for legal action.

The crackdown on illegal logging and other illegal activities in Khao Yai National Park was carried out in accordance with the order of Mr. Att
haphon Charoenchansa, Director-General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, to increase the level of quality patrolling to prevent and suppress illegal activities. Khao Yai National Park found that there were groups of people who illegally entered the national park to cut valuable trees from time to time. When any illegal activities were found, they would be arrested and prosecuted decisively in every case.
