Jakarta: ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn has affirmed both his personal commitment and that of the ASEAN Secretariat to support Vietnam in its cooperation activities within the regional bloc. During a working session held with Ambassador Ton Thi Ngoc Huong, the Permanent Representative of Vietnam to ASEAN, in Jakarta, Indonesia, Kao expressed readiness to coordinate and assist Vietnam in achieving its regional objectives.
According to Vietnam News Agency, Secretary-General Kao extended his congratulations to Vietnam on its political milestones, notably the successful 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He also acknowledged the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at various levels, which are set to serve during the 2026-2031 term. This acknowledgment underscores Vietnam's active participation and leadership within ASEAN and its commitment to regional development.
