Berlin: The district council of Marzahn-Hellersdorf, Berlin, has approved the naming of a small park as 'Nguyen Van Tu Garden' to honour a Vietnamese-origin man who was killed in a racist attack 34 years ago.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the initiative was put forward by The Left and gained support from the Trong Com Association, which advocates for Vietnamese immigrants' integration and protection of their interests. The broader Vietnamese community has also shown backing for the initiative after years of advocacy.
