Da nang: The Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations (DAFO) has signed a new round of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with foreign non-governmental organisations (NGOs), mobilising pledged assistance worth about 2.79 million USD across various spheres. Speaking at the March 27 signing ceremony, DAFO President Nguyen Ngoc Binh highlighted the union's ongoing efforts to expand partnerships with international organisations, resulting in a range of practical projects supporting sustainable development, livelihoods for women and vulnerable groups, education, healthcare, and emergency relief.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the newly signed MoUs mark a significant step forward in DAFO's mission to foster international cooperation and support for the city's development goals. The funds are expected to be allocated to initiatives that will bolster community resilience and enhance the quality of life for residents, particularly those in disadvantaged communities. The projects are set to address critical areas such as improving educational infrastructure, providing healthcare services, and offering essential support to women and vulnerable populations.
The collaboration with international NGOs is part of a broader strategy by DAFO to leverage global expertise and resources in addressing local challenges. By engaging with these organisations, DAFO aims to implement effective solutions that align with the city's socio-economic development objectives. The partnership underscores the importance of international solidarity in tackling pressing issues and underscores DAFO's role as a key facilitator in mobilising international aid for Da Nang.
