Da nang: Three foreign non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have pledged to provide nearly 2.5 million USD to support social and humanitarian programmes in Da Nang city from 2025 to 2030. The pledges were made at a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony held on October 22 by the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations (DAFO). The event was carried out under the central city’s 2025 plan on people-to-people diplomacy and foreign NGO aid mobilisation.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the commitments from these NGOs aim to enhance various social initiatives and humanitarian efforts in the city over the next five years. This support is part of a broader strategy to strengthen international collaboration and assistance in addressing community needs. The specific focus areas for the funding have not been detailed, but they are expected to align with Da Nang’s strategic goals for development and support.
The DAFO has been actively engaging with international partners to mobilise resources and expertise in order to tackle local challenges. This new influx of funds underscores the city’s commitment to building sustainable partnerships that foster development and well-being for its residents. The MoU signing marks a significant step forward in Da Nang’s efforts to attract international support and enhance its community-focused projects.
