Hanoi: Defence cooperation continues to serve as a key pillar of the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic cohesion between Vietnam and Laos, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang said while receiving his Lao counterpart General Khamliang Outhakaysone in Hanoi on June 9. General Khamliang Outhakaysone is accompanying Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone on his official visit to Vietnam and attendance at the third ASEAN Future Forum.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting underscored the importance of defence ties in fortifying the unique relationship between the two countries. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral defence cooperation as a means to ensure regional stability and strengthen mutual trust. The discussions also touched upon collaborative initiatives to address emerging security challenges and the continued exchange of military expertise and resources.
