Hanoi: Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long hosted a reception for UNICEF Regional Director for East Asia and the Pacific, June Kunugi, in Hanoi on November 26.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting underscored the importance of ongoing collaboration between Vietnam and UNICEF in addressing the challenges faced by children in the region. Discussions centered around enhancing efforts to promote child welfare and education in East Asia and the Pacific, with a focus on sustainable development and inclusive policy-making.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude for UNICEF’s continued support and commitment to the welfare of children in Vietnam. Kunugi, in turn, emphasized UNICEF’s dedication to working closely with Vietnamese authorities to further improve the living conditions of children and to ensure their rights are protected and fulfilled.
The meeting concluded with both parties reiterating their commitment to strengthening their partnership and exploring new avenues for cooperation in the coming years.
