Domestic Demand Bolsters Vietnam’s Economic Growth: ADB

Hanoi: Vietnam’s economy remains resilient amid increasing uncertainties and high US tariffs, thanks to solid domestic demand, as highlighted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in its September Asian Development Outlook (ADO). The ADB has revised Vietnam’s economic growth forecast, increasing it to 6.7% in 2025 and adjusting it to 6.0% in 2026. Inflation projections are slightly below the previous estimates published in April this year.

According to Vietnam News Agency, ADB Country Director for Vietnam, Shantanu Chakraborty, addressed the challenges facing Vietnam’s economy during the launch of the report on September 30. Despite these challenges, the country’s strong domestic demand continues to serve as a crucial pillar supporting economic growth, helping Vietnam navigate through global economic uncertainties and trade tensions, particularly with the United States.
